Where can I use Fast Tread^® stairs?

Fast Tread^® stairs work perfectly in any multi-level build.

Fast Tread^® stairs with solid stringers are ideal for fire stairs as they can have handrails already attached for immediate edge protection once filled with concrete and are BCA compliant. They speed up the installation of any fire stairs including egress stairs, fire isolated stairs and scissor stairs.

Where a more aesthetic finish is required, Fast Tread^® stairs with profile cut stringers are ideal. The stringers are cut to the profile of the risers, customised to suit any project and making it easier for finishing with tiles, carpet, vinyl, timber or paint.

We apply significant attention to detail to every step of the construction and installation process. Let’s step through each stage of your Fast Tread^® stairs construction and installation:

Shop drawings & scheduling

We shop draw your Fast Tread^® stairs based on your engineer’s specifications and construction drawings.

Production

Down to the millimetre, we manufacture your stairs to the shop drawings, ensuring they’re ready when you need them.

Delivery

We deliver your stairs direct to your site or yard. Each one is clearly labelled with its location ID.

Installation & bracing

Your stairs are installed and braced one level at a time. Handrails can be fitted prior to installation giving immediate edge protection once filled with concrete.

Reinforcement

Fast Tread^® stairs come with reinforcement pre-welded into the flight to your engineer’s specifications. Your steel fixer provides the lapping reinforcement to the landings and slabs.

Upper level access

Place in Safe-T-Tread™, our temporary tread system, to provide safe and instant access to upper levels prior to core fill.

Core fill

Fast Tread^® stairs are typically core filled with the slab above. Fast Tread^® stairs have a screed fold in the riser for the concreter to screed to, ensuring 100% level treads.

Handrail bends

Once the stair shaft is stripped of formwork and lights are installed, our Fast Tread^® Site Linkage Team will weld the connection between handrails on your site, making the handrails continuous and BCA compliant.

Do you need handrails?

To achieve BCA/NCC & Australian Standard compliance, hand rails are required on one or both sides of your Fast Tread^® stairs, depending on their design. We offer four options to meet requirements for fire isolated and main access stairways. All handrails are manufactured in galvanised tubular hollow section.
