Construction has begun on the new Critical Services Building as part of the expansion of the Canberra Hospital campus at Woden, ACT. The expansion will be the largest healthcare commitment ever undertaken by the ACT Government. The new building will include more operating rooms, more treatment spaces and more intensive care beds as well as improved access between the emergency department, helipad, ambulance bays, and critical care facilities. The project will deliver increased capacity across the adult intensive care, paediatric intensive care, surgical, coronary care, and emergency services which will service Canberra and the region.

Multiplex has been appointed to deliver the nearly 40,000m² facility which is expected to be completed in 2024. Oakdale Group has won the formwork package and has engaged FTI Group in the supply of the stair formwork and metal handrails. Fast Tread® stairs are featured throughout the project as standard fire circulation stairs with 3 rail handrails. We’re looking forward to supplying this landmark project over the coming months.
